Email SECURE EMAIL SERVICES Security

All legal confidential information that goes over the Internet should be encrypted. All intellectual property that is delivered over the Internet should be encrypted. However, there is confusion in the Information Systems Industry regarding Email encryption. There are at present two prevailing systems: PGP, which has been a successful encryption package for some time and S/MIME, a new encryption standard that uses MIME and has been adopted by a number of large companies, including Microsoft.

You can review both prevailing systems by clicking on the below sites:
Site for PGP:
http://www.nai.com/

Site for S/MIME:

There is a process that can simplify the act of determining whether the sender and the recipient are verified before an encrypted Email can be decrypted: each party obtains a digital certificate issued by a company that specializes in verifying identities.

Our Law Offices have obtained a digital certificate (the "Certificate") from VeriSign, which, in combination with S/MIME encryption offered by MS Outlook 98 and Outlook Express 5, will offer our clients a reasonable degree of Email security.

Important Notes:

NOTWITHSTANDING OUR EMAIL SECURITY SYSTEM, OUR CLIENTS SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT NO ENCRYPTION AND CERTIFICATE AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM IS ABSOLUTELY SECURE. THEREFORE, WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT YOU SEND LEGALLY SENSITIVE INFORMATION OVER THE INTERNET.

This Law Office will not offer legal advice in response to Emails from people who have not entered a Retainer Agreement with us that establishes the terms of an attorney/client relationship. An inquiry by Email does not establish an attorney/client relationship.
